"your room looks like an antique store"

This weeks assingment was all about self-portaits and I was more than excited because I'm my favorite subject. But these were self portaits only using objects. So I put my bruised ego aside for a few miutes and snapped some pictures of my bedroom. And they actually look good. Most of the time my room looks like something Amy Winehouse would hang out in. You know, a crack den. Everything here describes me to a tee. Well, everything except the narcotics.

Jeff's Scavenger Hunt Favorites

Left is the Photo representing Art. This one happens to be a Drawing I drew in DrawingI.

Below is a Picture of the Courthouse Clocktower, I liked it because of the shadows.

Below is the Picture representing Desolation...
The rusted interior of a Dumpster...

Above is a picture of the Rock Garden next to the State Office Building, I like the sunset creeping through...

Jeff's Collage

This is my Collage, which portrays randomness... or at least seems to...
The car drives past the moon from Games towards the rose in the direction of the arrow...
the lights of illumination lie in the direction of educational institutions built upon the basement rock, the foundation, the Granite.... It's all alive...

Amanda-ness. (collage representing myself)

This photo represents who I am as a person. The beach has always been my favorite place to be ever since I was a little girl. I spent three months in the Virgin Islands (where the background photo was taken), working on a boat and taking tourists snorkeling through the reef.
Nature is very important to me. I love being outside (on a nice day, of course). Nothing beats the fresh air and sunshine. I love taking photos of natural things; trees, flowers, etc.
On top of the background, I put an opaque layer of a map. This map symbolizes (I tend to say that word a lot in my posts....anyways...) my love for traveling. It is one of my main passions in life. Not only is this a map, by the way, but it is the map with the highlighted route my family and I used to move from California to Vermont when I was twelve years old, so, to me, it has a deeper meaning.
Lastly, a camera. My main passion in life. I live for photography. If you see me outside of school, I'm guarenteed to have a camera on me. Having love for photography, I found, changes your whole perception of what beauty is. It makes you see the world in a completely new way (in my opinion... cough). Anyways, that's mah thing. I've written a bit too much I think...

Amanda's scavenga' hunt.

These photos were meant to symbolize specific words (in order); Desolate, Up, Listen, Street, ANIMAL (thank you Olivia for your wonderful modeling) and Gray.

"Alice, you're back!"

I decided to go with an Alice in Wonderland theme to my collage. Half of the photo is in black and white, and the other is very colorful. On the colorful side, I used a high saturation to create an almost "trippy" effect to the collage. That, and the twisting, melting tree, which I used the "melt"filter to create. The apple symbolizes a forbidden aspect to the photo. The young girl is Alice, but the actual young girl the author (her uncle) used to base his story on.

ME

Yup, here I am. My daughter, cooking and needlework, flowers and vegetable gardening, my house, the arts, travel, my animals and teaching. Well, that's the simple version!

David Hockney Inspired Montages

I like the structure of the metal electric poles on the truck route going out of Newport. Every time I go by this pole
I'm amazed that humans can create such things and the structure itself is beautiful.

I also looked up several of the artists and David Hockney's works seemed to be my inspiration. Here is the black river right after it had rained all night. I saw it on Tuesday and had to take pictures of it.
It was beautiful.

Photos representing me.

My pictures of self portrait items that say who I am, my favorite things

A Day in the Life of my Hands. A Selfless Self Portrait Series

This is me

Jodi Smith
These are just a few thing I like to do.
I love flowers this is just one of the many flower beds I have.
This is a picture I took of one of my flowers.

These are the things I use every say.

Tracie's Self Portrait

The collage I did reflects who I am. I like to read books so I put a picture of a bookcase. I also like country and rock and roll. I used a cowgirl hat, some famous sayings that a couple of country artists say, and a picture of cassette tapes of rock and roll bands. I am also a big fan of Dale Earnhardt Sr. I also love silver; it is my favorite color. I used some silver jewelry to show this. I also drive a Mazda 3, which happens to be silver, so I used a picture of the medallion. The big license plate in the middle represents my initials and the day I was born and it is on my car. The license plate also shows the state in which I live.
