Portraits

Assignment 3- TA

Here is a picture taken at Lo's Tavern of one of the bar tenders pouring a drink. This picture was really dark because I didn't want to use my flash. I used Photo Shop to lighten it up to see her.
This picture is someone smoking a cigarette and his shirt is really expressive of what he is doing.

The dog is posing for the camera.

This happens to be two different people. The picture on the left is the little girl's father when he was two years old.

This picture is of a man working in a hardware store. See how well the display frames him.

This is a picture of people I don't know so I think that qualifies as a stranger.
my self portrait.

I like all of the white in the picture it makes my son stand out. He is so happy he learned how to skate this year.

I love her brown eyes.

I love her blue eyes.

heartbeats

I liked the symmetry of the bolts on the deck and the way the wood shimmered in the sunlight.

This lovely picture was taken on my deck. It's a very pretty wire plant-holder that has been out all year.

I loves me some Lancome. This is a really old bottle that my sister accidentally pilfered from my Gram's house. The bottle is very art deco, which is pretty cool.

I was initially going to do schoolwork. Instead I looked up song lyrics.

A self portrait of yours truly apply more mascara.
I was trying to do the 3rds in this photo.
This is my slow shutter speed.

I liked the shadow look of the tree.

I was playing with the shutter and this is with a fast shutter Speed.

I wanted to see how close I could get, on manual I could get even closer.

I just liked the color and lines of the bricks.

I just liked this angle.

I took these pictures because I thought that they looked great. I love music, especially the drums and so I took a picture of my friends drum set. I also took a picture of jay peak because what is not to love about that view, it is a statement of the NEK. And than there is the Magog shot, I was stopped at the stop sign on Second Street and I had a direct view of the various shacks and it kind of reminds me of the AT&T commercials where you can see on bothe sides a perfect slant of the trees (left) and the houses (right).
This is the picture of my self.

This is my stranger, and she was feeling uncomfortable.
This is my little sister, and she is 20 weeks preganent.

Winter 2010

In these shots, I tried to concentrate on the Rule of Thirds. This was a new concept for me.
The shot of the winter walk follows the rule of thirds. I cropped the shot to make it do so and found that it gave the picture more personality and made it more interesting to look at. This is one of my favorite pictures.
The Winter Mailbox doesn't really follow the rule of thirds but it works, I believe due to the balance and flow of the reds throughout the shot.
Tatum, at the mountain, didn't really adhere to the two-thirds rule. She is centered squarely on the page, but somehow, it works for me. Her bright personality shines through and this picture makes me smile.
The two pugs really fell into the two-thirds rule, with Hope's face falling on the bottom left third of the screen and Phoebe on the top right third. I think this gave the shot nice balance.
In the flag picture, which was taken hanging out a third story window, I knew that I wanted the flag to be on the top third of the shot. Doing this, I decided that centering the flag horizontally would be okay, as the pole compensates by it's position in the left third of the field.

My picture of a strange at a basketball game. Talking with the coach Brad.

My Nephew and my Niece. How cute.

This is a picture of me, my step daughter and my daughter.
